Thursday's Daily Art/Challenges
I did my first challenge piece for Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog (http://rainbowladyschallengeblog.blogspot.com/). The theme of this challenge is called Big Tree, Little Tree and we have to make a Christmas card using this theme. I'm really happy how it turned out and will definitely keep this style in mind when I make my cards after Thanksgiving.

Monday's Daily Art/Challenges
Step Outside Your Box Saturdays--Photo Transfers (http://stepoutsideyourboxsaturdays.wordpress.com/)
The first photo transfer I did with gel medium. Came out beautifully! Background is done with oil pastels.
The skinny page transfer was inspired by Claudine Hellmuth's Ranger Paint Dabber transfer technique, MINUS the Ranger Paint Dabber. I used regular ol' acrylic craft paint. It did not come out beautifully, but I do like how it turned out. I don't know if I used too much or too little paint, but I do know I didn't wait long enough for it to dry. As you can see, a big blob of her arm is missing and part of her dress on the left side, but I like the aged, worn out look of it. Text papers were aged with Antique Linen and Walnut stain Distress Ink and I smeared on some metallic pigment ink over that.

Arty Girlz Challenge--Doodling (http://www.artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/)
Not crazy about my doodles, but I did try!
Created By Hand--Crungeboard/Chipboard (http://createdbyhandchallenge.wordpress.com/)
Couldn't find grungeboard at my local AC Moore, so I made my little house from scrap chipboard. 3x3 background is also made of chipboard.

Skinny Saturday--Be Inspired (http://sarahsskinnysaturdaychallenge.wordpress.com/)
Skinny page/ATC
After 2 weeks of futzing around, I finally finished this lil fabric collage.
I orginally started it for a challenge at...heh, can't remember where, but you couldn't use conventional ways to add color to your work. The background fabric was dyed with regular Lipton's tea, the "grass" was dyed with green tea and the fabric for the cat was dyed with raspberry tea. I'm slow and not very good with a needle and thread, but I do enjoy the process and find it very calming.

Sunday's Daily Art/Challenge
Created By Hand Challenge--Spritz, Spray and/or Splatter(3-4-08)
Lets see...I sprayed the tag with Walnut Ink and splattered Twinkling H2Os in 3 colors and metallic pens in silver and copper. The scrap of music sheet was already splattered with a lighter color but I added walnut ink to darken it a bit.
Been formulating my own brand of color mists in my head since this challenge came out, since buying any is totally out of the question for the time being. It's still in my head until I get to the store to buy little spray bottles and few other relatively cheap supplies. I can't wait to experiment next weekend!

Monday's Daily Art (3-3-08)
Finally got around to scanning the art from last week.
Here are two little watercolor pencil drawings I did. Eventually I plan on cutting them out and using them in a collage on canvas board.

Sunday's Daily Art/Challenges
Created By Hand Tuesday (2/26)--Bunny Template(http://createdbyhandchallenge.wordpress.com/)
I used paper I made for last week's glossy paper challenge and then I used heart scrim as a stencil with chalk ink and added embellishments.
Haven't decided what I'm doing with my bunny yet...will either add it to a card or make an ornament. Any suggestions?
Gothic Arch Sunday--Using Trash (http://gothicarches.wordpress.com/)
I used the lid from a containter of orange juice concentrate as a frame and the gorgeous woman within it is my Mom. Va va va vooooooooooom!!
I have been deeply inspired by my darling girl Tam, Suzi Blu and TimewithTascha, that I have finally kicked fear to the curb and tried my hand at painting. Not completely wild about the background, which turned kind of murky from layers of paint and being too impatient to wait for the paint to try thoroughly, but I do like my girl. It took me forever to get her face to come out looking normal and not grotesquely deformed. And yes, she's leaning waaaaaaaaaaaay to the side. I guess that comes from my own off-balanced, skewed view of life. Ha. I think I'll be making more of these little paintings, though I think until I am used to it, I'll stick with watercolor paper and saves the canvases for other artwork.
4x5 stretched canvas, edges yet to be finished.
